In the second of our pieces to celebrate Basenotes and Roja Dove’s event collaboration we take a look at The Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie based at one of the most famous shopping destinations in London, Harrods. The opulent surroundings and rare and exotic scents have meant that that the Parfumerie is a place that excites curiosity and attracts attention. Basenotes went along to find out what the Parfumerie offers and why this is not just another boutique. Stepping off of the pavement on a grey and overcast Knightsbridge morning into the blazing Green and Gilded department store is an act of refreshment in itself. The noise of traffic and tourists and workers rushing out of the office for an energy boosting mid-morning latte melts into a luxurious ambience, service with a smile and a sense that retail therapy could not be more pleasing. I recently was introduced to a gem of a line of fragrances from The Pink Room.  Creator of the brand and store, Sarah Barton King is a well established perfumer from London who now resides in NYC.  Her fragrances are lovely!

Pink Room Parfum No 1 is very girly and ladylike!  The opening notes are citrus and fruity while the heart is made of rich floral tones of jasmine, lily of the valley, violet.  Bottom notes are woody, spicy and fruity, with hints of vanilla, moss and musk.  I liked how the scent dried to a light soft scent.

Pour Toi Eau de Parfum is a bright, flirty fragrance!  The opening notes of Lemon, Blackcurrant, Grapefruit will grab your attention.  The heart is where you find the flirty and girly of Rose, Fleur de Melati, and Lily of the Valley.  The base notes of Sandalwood, Vanilla, White musk round out this fragrance. 

I enjoyed the distinctive scents both had to offer.  If I feel girly and lady-like I put on Pink Room Parfum No 1 and if I feel flirty and a little naughty I sprtiz-on  Pour Toi Eau de Parfum.  You can find out more information about these two scents and how to order them for yourself at: www.pinkroom.co.uk
